The Living Tree Memorial Park
Former Vallejo High principal Phil Saroyan has been working with an architect who has provided his services, pro bono, to help make the Park a reality. In some respects the finished plans resemble the artists rendition, but as you can see, the tree will be surrounded by 8 benches not three.
There is still time to "get in on the ground floor." If any VHS alums want to participate in the Living Tree Memorial Park and purchase a brick paver for yourself, or in memory of a friend or loved one, make a check out for $50 per paver to Vallejo High School and send it to me. Only one name per paver please.

Please make sure that all of your info is included on the Memo section of the check, or in an enclosed note. Also clearly print the name of the person(s) to be honored and the year to be inscribed on the brick.
One of the areas that we can always improve on is in recognizing the accomplishments of others. One new avenue we have instituted this year is to recognize and honor those who diligently go about their respective jobs without a lot of fanfare. We will spotlight a few of our notables. Please understand that there are innumerable stand-out members of the VHS family, so those that we recognize in no way represent the totality of our bright shining stars
Here is how we will acknowledge our students and staff in this new endeavor: Each month we will be recognizing a female and male student from each grade; one female and male (certificated) teacher; one (classified) staff member. Each honoree will have their name posted on our Marquee in front of the school for the month and each will have their picture taken and posted in the Main Office. Additionally, each honoree will be given a plaque to commemorate the occasion.
